CEO Richard Shinto Announces Subsidiary of InnovaCare Health is a Participant in CAPG Case Studies of Excellence
InnovaCare Health, a leading provider of managed healthcare services is continuously improving its products by developing economical models. The company is the first and only to earn its accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for their Medicare Advantage plans, in 2011. Richard Shinto announced InnovaCare Health’s subsidiary, MSO of Puerto Rico is a member of the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG), Case Studies in Excellence. The association represents physician organizations practicing quality care. MSO is featured in the National Standards of Excellence member survey to create the 2016 Case Studies in Excellence report.
InnovaCare Health volunteered MSO to participate in the self-assessment to enable the physician group to evaluate processes and tools used to deliver coordinated care for continuous quality and value improvements. President and CEO Richard Shinto, M.D. said they had to build physician support for the company’s initiatives to engage patients in ways that are economical and efficient. He said in October 2016, they are adding resources to address issues of collecting data. The annual Case Studies in Excellence will allow MSO to describe an intervention or program they developed to address the challenge and report achievements result. Penelope Kokkinides, Chief Administration Officer said InnovaCare Health remains committed to developing models that are affordable and effective. Richard Shinto, M.D. and Penelope Kokkinides have over 21 years of experience collectively in the clinical and operational healthcare. Dr. Shinto previously worked for NAMM California, Aveta, Inc., Medical Pathways Management Company, and Cal Optima Health Plan. Ms. Kokkinides rejoined InnovaCare Health in 2015 to serve as CAO and brings expertise in government programs, including Medicaid and Medicare. She also has experience in clinical program development, organizational infrastructure, and managed healthcare.
